ADS1115 16-Bit ADC Breakout Board

RETIRED

This is a breakout Board for the Ultra-Small - Low-Power 16-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converter ADS1115.

Use this breakout to add ADC capabilities to your Raspberry-Pi, to improve the resolution of your Arduino, or with any microcontroller running from 2V to 5.5V power/logic.

The ADS1115 provides 16-bit precision at 860 samples/second over I2C. The chip can be configured as 4 single-ended input channels, or two differential channels. It also includes a programmable gain amplifier (up to 16x) to help boost up smaller single/differential signals to the full range.
Libraries for Raspberry Pi and Arduino are available to get started. Simply connect GND pins, VDD to the logic power supply, and SCL/SDA to the microcontroller's I2C port. Data are transferred via I2C and up to four I2C slave addresses can be selected.

Technical Characteristics:

  • Wide supply range: 2.0 to 5.5V
  • Low current consumption (150μA in continuous mode)
  • Single-shot mode: auto shut-down to reduce current consumption
  • Programmable data rate: 8SPS to 860SPS
  • Internal low-drift voltage reference
  • Internal Oscillator
  • Internal PGA
  • I2C interface: pin-selectable addresses
